Dr. Stephanie Koffman serves as the Senior Executive Director at Westwood Village where she is instrumental in overseeing the daily operations and strategic direction of the community. With over 15 years of experience in senior care management and operations in both the private and non-profit sectors, Stephanie brings a wealth of expertise to this role. She began her career serving the older adult population as a social worker where she played a crucial role in supporting the emotional and social well-being of residents in senior living communities.
Her transition into operational roles was marked by a series of promotions that showcased her ability to blend compassionate care with effective management. She holds both a master’s degree and PhD in social work from Yeshiva University, where her dissertation was titled, “Purpose and Quality of Life Among Assisted Living Residents.” In addition to her scholarly achievements, she is most proud of her involvement in the development and creation of an executive director training and mentorship program as well as enhancing a tech program focused on associate engagement.
Stephanie is dedicated to making a positive impact and has a leadership style characterized by a commitment to excellence, innovation, and a resident-centered approach. When not working, Stephanie enjoys Pilates, walking the many canyons in southern California and reading, as well as spending time with her family.
Farid Tommy Taheri joins The Watermark at Westwood Village as the Assistant Executive Director, where he supports the Executive Director in overseeing daily operations and guiding the strategic direction of the community.
Farid discovered his true calling after caring for his grandmother, who was diagnosed with dementia. This experience sparked a deep and lasting passion for serving older adults and led him to shift careers from sales and marketing to senior living.
He earned his Bachelor of Science in Human Development and Aging as well as a Master of Arts in Senior Living Hospitality from the University of Southern California’s Leonard Davis School of Gerontology. His undergraduate studies focused on the biological and psychosocial aspects of aging, while his graduate work emphasized enhancing quality of life across various senior living models. In addition, Farid earned a Master Certificate in Hospitality Management from Cornell University.
Outside of work, Farid enjoys quality time with his family, friends and dog, Gladys. He loves staying active, reading, and traveling around the world.
